This role is a hybrid position based at the Fairport, NY office. The Controller will be a detail-oriented and motivated individual responsible for monthly reporting, year-end close, accounts receivable and payable, and treasury functions, working in coordination with a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner. The role also involves supporting tax and accounting audits and collaborating with local and international teams to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • 5 or more years of experience in accounting or finance required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP highly preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only. Future sponsorship for work authorization is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification or CPA candidate is a plus.
  • Experience working with BPO partners preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with international teams preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own standard accounting procedures including: Preparing journal entries.
  • Generating general ledger account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Recording, researching, and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Performing variance analysis to ensure financial statement accuracy.
  • Supporting the preparation of month-end and year-end reporting packages.
  • Performing additional duties as needed to support the close.
  • Coordinate with the BPO partner to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial transactions.
  • Support tax and accounting audits.
  • Coordinate with local and international teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting across different regions.
  • Collaborate closely with the international Treasury department to manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial risk management.
  • Support internal controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Stay current with accounting standards and regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
