About The Position

One of our valued manufacturing clients is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the full financial operation across multiple legally separate divisions . This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a finance executive who thrives in small to midsize manufacturing environments , enjoys partnering closely with operations, and can balance strategic financial leadership with day-to-day execution . This role will oversee accounting, cost accounting, inventory controls, budgeting, forecasting, ERP optimization, compliance, and executive-level financial strategy , while also serving as a key partner in domestic and international expansion initiatives .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • 8–12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
  • Prior Controller or senior finance leadership experience in small to midsize manufacturing
  • Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory, standard costing, and plant finance
  • Experience supporting capital investments, facility growth, and operational scaling
  • Strong ERP systems knowledge within manufacturing environments
  • Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and reporting expertise
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining highly hands-on
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, executive leadership, and international stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to travel, including international travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and finance activities across multiple manufacturing entities
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, treasury, audits, tax, and banking relationships
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, EBITDA performance, margin improvement, and working capital optimization
  • Partner with plant leadership on cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, BOM accuracy, and production variances
  • Provide financial modeling support for capital projects, facility expansions, ROI, NPV, and break-even analysis
  • Serve as Plan Administrator for the company’s 401(k) plan, ensuring ERISA, IRS, and DOL compliance
  • Oversee ERP performance, system upgrades, digital transformation, cybersecurity controls, and IT-related capital planning
  • Partner with executive leadership and global HQ on reporting alignment, liquidity, and international growth initiatives
  • Travel domestically and internationally, including support for Costa Rica operations
