About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Controller to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all accounting operations for our growing organization. As a trusted member of the leadership team, the Controller will guide financial decision-making, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and help drive operational excellence across the company. This is a hands-on leadership role for a professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to developing strong financial processes and teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance required.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressive accounting experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, auditing, internal controls, tax compliance, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Spectrum accounting software is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directing all accounting functions.
  • Maintaining effective internal controls.
  • Monitoring financial operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Preparation, analysis, and interpretation of monthly financial statements.
  • Managing budgeting and forecasting.
  • Monitoring financial performance.
  • Analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Overseeing the company's financial model.
  • Forecasting business performance.
  • Calculating bank covenant ratios.
  • Identifying potential financial risks and opportunities.
  • Serving as the primary liaison for external auditors, banking partners, CPA firms, and financial institutions.
  • Managing annual financial audits.
  • Coordinating tax reporting and compliance.
  • Overseeing business licenses.
  • Ensuring timely preparation of required federal and state tax filings.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable accounting standards and legal requirements.
  • Serving as the primary administrator for the ERP accounting system.
  • Recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing accounting staff.
  • Conducting performance reviews.
  • Providing coaching and cross-training opportunities.
  • Leading regular departmental meetings.
  • Resolving operational issues.
  • Supporting team development.
  • Participating in management meetings and special projects.
  • Staying current on accounting best practices through ongoing professional development and industry involvement.
