About The Position

The Control Room Operator monitors and controls inmate, staff, and visitor movement within the Coos County Jail. The role operates facility security systems and provides administrative and technical support to corrections staff. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, and DMV driving-record check. The operator must obtain and maintain CJIS certification. This is a part-time position with hours and schedule varying based on business needs, paying $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and follow complex directives.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, and DMV driving-record check.
• Obtain and maintain CJIS certification.

• Typing and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate control systems for cameras, monitors, electronic doors, elevators, and communication equipment.
• Monitor the facility for safety and security using electronic visual devices.
• Screen and route visitors and process inmate correspondence.
• Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documentation.
• Perform general office tasks, including typing, filing, and data entry.
