About The Position

Auburn is a leading developer of sensors, controls, and software that provide operational efficiency improvements and EPA compliance for large air pollution control systems, powder processing filters, and industrial dust collection/ventilation systems. Recently acquired by the Nederman Group for developing IIoT and connected services for such applications, Auburn products and services are leading solutions for preventing hazardous particulate emissions from process industries (power, cement, steel, etc.) improving filtration and overall plant operation efficiency in powder processing industries (pharmaceutical, food, chemical, etc.), and capturing and controlling dust generated within industrial discrete manufacturing industries (automotive, woodworking, welding, etc.). The Control Panel Assembler/Technician is responsible for Mechanical Assembly of Electrical enclosure and panels, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems used in manufacturing and production operations. This role supports equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and ensures safe and efficient operation of machinery. The technician works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues, improve system performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Hands on experience with electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of industrial controls, PLCs, and automation (preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience working with electrical assemblies, control panels, or industrial equipment preferred
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing, SS, or continuous improvement practices
  • Lean Six Sigma (Yellow Belt or higher) preferred
  • OSHA safety training or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced production environment
  • Working knowledge of quality standards, inspection methods, and documentation requirements
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement

  • Technical certification or associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install components, wire to schematics, and test electrical systems including wiring, motors, control panels, and PLC-based equipment
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Ensure all products are built and tested in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and quality standards
  • Support resolution of non-conformances and rework activities in coordination with Quality and Engineering
  • Encourage team members to raise concerns, ask questions, and contribute to continuous improvement without hesitation
  • Support implementation and sustainment of 5S standards within the work area
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and workflow
  • Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., waste reduction, process standardization)
  • Encourage team participation in improvement ideas and problem-solving
  • Support implementation of new processes, tools or layout changes
  • Work closely with engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve Nonconformance related issues
  • Provide feedback on manufacturability, work instructions, and process improvements
  • Support introduction of new products into production (NPI activities)
