About The Position

SJE is a family of brands dedicated to providing industry-leading, innovative, and reliable control and monitoring solutions that improve efficiencies, protect the environment, and deliver dependable solutions to customers. The company is seeking an Electrical Panel Technician to support its Primex brand, which specializes in control solutions for the municipal and wastewater industries, including pump control panels, web-hosted SCADA solutions, and complex system integration projects. This role is based in Vacaville, CA. As a Control Panel Builder, the individual will be responsible for laying out and assembling electrical control panels from start to finish, wiring devices, modifying enclosures, and performing light metal fabrication. The role also involves maintaining project documentation, communicating with design engineers and project managers, tracking parts, providing quality feedback, and occasionally assisting with field installations.

Requirements

  • Experience with assembling and wiring control panels
  • Experience with working off blueprints, schematics, and a bill of materials
  • Experience with electrical theory, measurement skills, and metal fabrication

Responsibilities

  • Lay out back panels and doors according to schematics and company standards
  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels from start to finish using production drawings and bills of material
  • Install and wire electrical and other devices in accordance with company and industry requirements
  • Modify enclosures using hand tools and machinery as needed
  • Fabricate brackets and custom doors
  • Perform light metal fabrication to support panel assembly
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including checking off and marking up production drawings to track progress and identify any issues or errors
  • Communicate closely with Design Engineers, Project Managers, and other team members to address questions, resolve issues, and ensure successful completion
  • Track loose and spare parts kits
  • Record and provide First Time Quality (FTQ) feedback on completed work
  • Travel to job sites to assist Field Service Technicians with field installations (on occasion)
