The Control Equipment Leader at Idaho Power leads a team of Control Equipment Technicians responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and control system equipment that supports substations, power plants, switchyards, and other utility facilities. The role oversees operations, maintenance, construction activities, lifecycle management of SCADA equipment, project coordination, preventive maintenance programs, and 24-hour operational support through on-call response. The position also provides leadership, coaching, and development for field technicians while promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Western Electricity Coordination Council (WECC), and other regulatory requirements. Working across both office and field environments, the Control Equipment Leader collaborates with operations, engineering, cybersecurity, partner utilities, and other business units to maintain secure, reliable, and compliant control systems that support Idaho Power's electric grid.
