About The Position

Provides for the security and safety of staff, residents and guests of the Youth Treatment Center by assuming responsibility for the control booth area and all monitoring equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • At least six (6) months relevant work experience preferred; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Experience in Court or Juvenile Justice systems is highly desirable.
  • Must possess basic computer/keyboarding skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret various routine and non-routine documents.
  • Customer service, courtesy, professional business demeanor and presentation are critical.
  • Due to the personally sensitive nature of information in this area, confidentiality is essential.
  • Must have the ability to work well with a diverse group of people.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age;
  • Have a valid driver’s license;
  • Submit to a pre-employment screening, a criminal record check and in-depth reference check.
  • Must be able to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Court or Juvenile Justice systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations.
  • Adheres to established safety procedures, monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
  • Monitors activity in the Youth Treatment Center via video monitors and records activities per outlined procedure.
  • Monitors the movement and care of youths and documents same in Com. Log.
  • Monitors emergency systems equipment, reporting any problems with same to appropriate staff, per procedure.
  • Receives visitors and notifies appropriate staff; monitors access doors and admits individuals.
  • Documents maintenance needs on provided logs per procedure.
  • Briefs oncoming shift relief with general updates and all abnormal situations that have occurred during assigned shift.
  • Maintains control of key lock box and distribution key log.
  • Prepares incident reports as necessary.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area logs, receipts, token logs and other required written records.
  • Answer telephones and greet visitors, providing information and assistance while identifying yourself in a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Direct calls appropriately and/or take and deliver accurate messages while taking responsibility for helping the caller.
  • Prepares memorandum, correspondence and other job related documents using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
  • Reads e-mail and follows directives.
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings and training as assigned.
  • Provides assistance to other personnel as needed.
  • Contacts appropriate emergency law enforcement personnel in the event of a crisis situation.
  • All other duties as assigned.
