About The Position
Support production, quality and engineering on current products, PPAP and prototype production parts by providing metallurgical and information from test samples. Position is for third shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma is required.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years experience in gear manufacturing or related process is preferable.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain productivity, quality, housekeeping, attendance and safety standards.
- Perform daily met lab duties per schedule and assist advanced/senior personnel.
- Clean and maintain cut-off-saw, lab equipment, lab accessories and general cleaning.
- Cut, mount, grind and polish lab samples as required.
- Identify heat treat process by microstructural examination with use of microscope.
- Perform preventative maintenance on inspection equipment.
- Approve steel certifications per GKN or customer specifications.
- Identify all microstructures in materials commonly used by GKN before and after heat treatment.
- Prepare PPAP samples and compare results with customer specifications.
- Use SAP to confirm lots that are accepted and to create requisitions.
- Perform basic Millipore cleanliness analysis on requested components.
- Work as a team member to ensure production quality.
- Responsible for communicating when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to his / her respective Manager.
