About The Position

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for a Contracts Specialist. The purpose of this position is to administrate and coordinate all business aspects related to the sale and delivery of company products. Has all the same duties and responsibilities of a Contract Administrator but in addition may be responsible for the supervision of the work of others on a major program, will provide direction and guidance to Contract Administrators as required and help in preparation of various reports required from the Contracts department by upper management. Will act on behalf of the Contracts Manager when assigned and maintain adequate knowledge of the overall operation of the Contracts Department. From initial receipt of customer enquiries, preparation of cost estimates and proposals, negotiation of terms of contract, contract review and award implementation of work and monitoring of contract performance, delivery of product to contract close out, the contracts specialist plays an integral role throughout the process. Responsible for maintaining the Order Management System (OMS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree or Business Vocational School Diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at a senior level.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all activities of the contract life cycle, receipt of RFP's, preparation of pricing models and proposals, negotiations and acceptance of contracts, implement and monitor work, and contract close-out, at an expert level.
  • Monitor gross margins achieved on contracts and assist in contract reviews to improve company performance.
  • Update Order Management System (OMS), Post Contract Award Review (PCAR), CATLOB systems to ensure that systems accurately reflects current status and requirements of firm orders.
  • Work with material planning team to ensure that customers’ demand is properly reflected in our planning systems
  • Communications with internal and external customers to ensure proper contract performance with investigations into any problems in order to identify corrective actions for management's consideration.
  • Preparation of inputs for budget preparation and other miscellaneous reports as required.
  • Follow-up on accounts receivables to ensure each contract is receiving proper cashflow.
  • Assist and provide advice to contract administrators on various functions to ensure consistency and proper practices are utilized.
  • Provide assistance to Management in preparation of reports and act on their behalf when required. Maintain working knowledge of contracts department issues.
  • Receives guidelines and direct supervision from the Contracts Manager. Works to meet specific objectives identified in pricing strategy and/or negotiations.
  • Monitors and assists Contract Administrators on all aspects of the handling of specific contracts or customers.
