About The Position

Riverside Research is seeking a motivated and high-performing college student to join our Procurement & Contracts team for a Summer 2026 Internship in our Fairfax, Virginia office. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with the ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear written reports and group presentations.
  • A proactive learner who asks questions, adapts quickly to changing priorities, and works well in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying, sourcing, and evaluating vendors and subcontractors for specialized technical services and commercial items.
  • Support the team in drafting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
  • Learn to process purchase requisitions, verify pricing, and track orders from initiation through delivery and invoicing.
  • Help review solicitation requirements and learn to apply clauses from the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)—particularly focusing on commercial item acquisitions (FAR Part 12).
  • Maintain, organize, and audit contract files within the corporate repository to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal audit readiness.
  • Assist in tracking and routing Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Teaming Agreements through the corporate approval workflow.
  • Help track vendor performance metrics, expenditures, and procurement cycle times using Excel or internal procurement dashboards.
