This opportunity is to provide contractual support to various functions responsible for ship maintenance and modernization efforts within the Ship Repair Business Area for the Platforms and Services (P&S) Sector. This Contracts Administrator Senior Principal role will provide an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with responsibility for managing your own contracts and supporting multiple millions of dollars of proposal activity. This role involves interfacing with all levels of management and functions (Program Office, Finance, Operations, Quality, etc.) within BAE Systems as well as with our USN Customer and some commercial customers. As the Contracts Manager, you will work with customers to shape and close business opportunities in concert with internal objectives for Maritime Solutions Norfolk.

Requirements

  • Management/supervisory experience being responsible for a small team of 2 to 4 direct reports.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of, and experience with, FAR and DFAR regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and close complex negotiations requiring Current Cost or Pricing Data and proposal certification.
  • Experience with agreements to support business development, program management and engineering development teams (ex. NDAs, teaming agreements, etc.).
  • Experience dealing with the US Government and major maritime industry companies, as your customer.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to prepare letters, spreadsheets and presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with development and submittal of proposals in response to complex RFP's.
  • Experience with various USG agencies (especially the US Navy).

  • Management of personnel, their workloads and their development plans for future growth.
  • Consistently work on and provide guidance on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues as well as an understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interact with the team to gather, interpret, analyze, develop recommended strategies and present information.
  • Compliance with Company policies and procedures, legal, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Prepare, negotiate and manage complex proposals/contracts across domestic environments.
  • Provide guidance to the Program and Operation teams on government and commercial contracting solutions.
  • Cross functional collaboration with Program Management, Finance, Operations and Quality teams.
