About The Position

The Department of Environmental Conservation has an opportunity for a Contracts & Grants Specialist I to develop, create, and monitor grants and contracts out activities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized person to perform professional and technical work involving the procurement of goods and services, agreement drafting, and administration of agreements. Join a high performing team of dedicated staff. This position has the responsibility for writing grants, contracts, MOAs, MOUs, RFPs, RFIs, and RFAs. The position will work directly with technical project managers and plays a key role in helping to provide financial assistance to municipalities, businesses, and people throughout Vermont. This work requires a high degree of responsibility for working with internal staff and external customers. Candidates must be able to manage multiple priorities and keep track of agreements throughout their terms. We provide a very supportive working environment with a strong team ethic. The Department of Environmental Conservation currently operates in a hybrid working environment, supporting remote work as well as Core Days in which all staff are in the office. Permission to telework is applied for on an individual basis. This position is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, financial auditing, grants administration, or another closely related field.
  • OR Three (3) years or more of combined education and experience in accounting, business management, financial auditing, grants administration, or another relevant field.

Responsibilities
