About The Position

Viasat is seeking a highly organized and proactive Contracts and Records Specialist to join our Government Affairs and Regulatory team. This is a critical role combining administrative excellence with paralegal-style support to ensure our team operates seamlessly. You will serve as a foundational member of the team, acting as a primary point of contact for contract administration and records management. You will use your legal administrative expertise to manage essential vendor relationships, process required payments, and otherwise support our global initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-level administrative or "admin-paralegal" role, preferably within a corporate legal or regulatory environment.
  • Proven ability to manage the lifecycle of contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word (editing, formatting, and document merges), Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise high levels of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive corporate information.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to pivot priorities quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communications skills: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working for a satellite, telecommunications, or Internet service provider.
  • Familiarity with SATCOM or satellite regulations.
  • Experience working with external counsel or international consultants.
  • A Paralegal Certificate is a plus, though not required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end process for the execution and maintenance of international regulatory consultant contracts, vendor agreements, and law firm engagements.
  • Work with our internal Finance teams to ensure that funds are requisitioned and payments made in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare/revise essential documents, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), consulting and other vendor services agreements, and related materials, under the supervision of the legal team.
  • Organize and maintain the team’s records (e.g., submissions in consultation proceedings, contracts) and serve as a main point of contact for information retrieval.
  • Assist with research for FCC rulemakings and national regulatory consultations, and support the submission of regulatory filings.
