About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Contracts Administrator – Level 3 or Level 4 to join their collaborative teams in Commerce, CA. This position is 100% onsite and requires the individual to be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. The Contracts Administrator will be responsible for supporting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to ensure proper contract execution and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer requirements. The role involves being an embedded member of the program management team, supporting program success and new growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience (for Level 3). Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience (for Level 4). Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR or government acquisition regulations
  • Experience working with MS Office Suite and Adobe
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Contract administration or contract management experience in Defense or Aerospace industry
  • Experience managing cost-type or firm fixed price (FFP) procurement contract types, experience with Other Transactions is a plus
  • Experience with federal government contracting requirements; FAR/DFAR interpretations
  • Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application

Responsibilities

  • Monitor contracts and associated program(s) to ensure contractual obligations are communicated and understood, providing general contract adherence oversight
  • Participate in contract proposal coordination and preparation to ensure timely submission to customers
  • Participate in contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contract activities to manage assigned contracts in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications
  • Offer guidance and work collaboratively with a multitude of organizational functions ranging from technical, program, finance, global supply chain and security for seamless contract administration
  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements, prepare and manage contract change requests for review and approval; maintain historical information
  • Review terms and conditions to address provisions and risks of financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, intellectual property, termination provisions, indemnification and all other potential risk areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Build customer confidence despite geographical separation as well as be able to effectively cultivate those relationships
  • Enter and maintain contract data into Contract Management System or Enterprise Accounting System
