About The Position

The Contractor Sales Trainee sells products and services offered by 84 Lumber to current and prospective customers and builds positive customer relationships. The role focuses on developing a book of business in preparation for becoming a Contractor Sales Representative. The position is hourly and averages $46,000–$48,000 per year, with promotional opportunities. Other duties may be assigned by the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network of sources to identify new sales leads.
• Communicate with customers and leads to understand their product or service needs and recommend suitable products and services.
• Demonstrate product or service functions and utility based on customer needs.
• Maintain customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management, resolving post-sale issues.
• Stay in contact with existing and previous customers and inform them about relevant new products, services, and enhancements.
• Maintain detailed reports of sales activities, including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and customer or vendor relationship problems.
• Create and continually grow a book of business and acquire new customers.
• Create material estimates and read blueprints or prints.
• Source special-order materials.
