About The Position

COMHAR invites passionate individuals to join their team as a Contractor Therapist. This role focuses on providing high-quality therapeutic support to individuals and families seeking mental health, behavioral health, emotional, or developmental support. The therapist will deliver compassionate, evidence-based services to foster healing, growth, and resilience. This is a contract position available in the Philadelphia, PA 19134 and 19133 areas. Bilingual candidates (Spanish speaking) are welcome, and licensure supervision is available at select outpatient locations. The starting rate is $38.00/HR. The outpatient hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule (3 days at home, 2 days in the office) for those working 30+ hours per week.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
OR Full certification as an addiction's counselor or a co-occurring disorder professional by a statewide certification body which is a member of a National Certification Body or certified by another state government’s certification board (Certification includes: CAADC, ADC, CAAC, CCJP, CCDP, and CCDPD).
Active professional licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LSW, or equivalent)—or pre-licensed clinicians with supervision options, if applicable.
Experience in behavioral health /substance use field.
Experience providing mental health or behavioral health therapy.
Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree preferred with experience working with individuals diagnosed with both mental/behavioral health and substance use diagnoses.

Responsibilities

Provide a comprehensive assessment of individuals (who may be children or adults) who may have co-occurring diagnoses.
Develop a recovery plan in partnership with the individual/family, including goals, objectives, and interventions to address substance use and health & wellness goals.
Use a range of psychotherapeutic interventions, including evidence-based practices (EBPs) like motivational interviewing.
Provide recovery-oriented screenings and comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments, referencing substance use challenges when appropriate.
Provide individual and group therapy to address addictive behaviors that complicate primary mental/behavioral health issues, using Evidence Based practices and approaches.
Participate systematically in multidisciplinary team meetings, individual supervision, and group supervision to review case progress and ensure communication and a comprehensive treatment approach.
Collaborate with external teams to ensure coordination between systems.
Participate in supervision/meetings aimed at enhancing skills related to providing effective care.
View individuals from a strengths approach in preparation of treatment plans, with a focus on recovery.
Complete assessments, reports, and structured screening tools regularly (e.g., PHQ-9, tobacco screen, CAGE-Aid, PTSD scale).
Maintain and update community resources, and share information with the team.
Complete all clinical documentation and other required paperwork according to required time frames and program guidelines.
Participate in required clinical training and supervision sessions.
Participate in required agency meetings and attend in-service training to meet mandated training hours and ensure professional development.
Maintain professional and ethical interactions and services.
Adhere to all requirements, expectations, guidelines, regulations, and procedures outlined by the program, COMHAR, CCBHC, and all regulatory bodies.
Plan and assist individuals to increase community tenure, enhance quality of life, and attain the highest level of independent functioning.
Demonstrate active caseload management: evaluating level and frequency of care, outreach, consistent scheduling, prompting care coordination, and following discharge/aftercare planning.
Provide culturally responsive outpatient behavioral health services to the Latino community at the Latino Treatment Center (2600 N. American St), serving children, adolescents, and adults through individual, family, and group therapy, as well as psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
