About The Position

The Mechanical Contracting Field Superintendent supervises a team of Mechanical Contracting field technicians, focusing on enhancing their performance and facilitating their continuous training, growth, and improvement. This role involves direct supervision of field employees, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Key duties include interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling/dispatching.
  • 2 years of customer service experience required
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • HVAC industry experience is a plus
  • Frequent use of computers, mobile devices, and Microsoft products to manage business processes and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises field employees in the Mechanical Contracting Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Coordinating with PM on the start date and manpower needs.
  • Serves as liaison between the field and the office.
  • Assists with onboarding process for new technicians.
  • Provides regular feedback and coaching to technicians on their performance to expectations.
  • Hiring field Associates based on workload, including working with a temp staffing company if additional manpower is needed.
  • Hold all field Associates accountable for their actions that require disciplinary action, including HR and manager if needed.
  • Review and approve field Associate’s weekly time and expenses for accuracy.
  • Weekly onsite job visits as projects are in progress.
  • Maintains the schedule board to ensure it is accurate at all times.
  • Represents team at quarterly Team Leader meetings and provides team with feedback, including any updates.
  • Performs annual performance reviews with each field technician; sets goals and addresses all performance issues; provides recognition for exemplary performance.
  • Assist Ops Manager and provides oversight of respective team resources.
  • Forecasts anticipated staffing needs for your territory with the Project Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Collaborate with all Associates to uphold the company’s mission and values.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Regular travel requirements with overnight travel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
