About The Position

The contract writer will be responsible for drafting and reviewing documentation related to procurement activities, such as purchase orders, service agreements, vendor contracts, modifications, and amendments. This role involves creating contract documentation, including the development of the scope of services, performance requirements, and terms and conditions. The writer will develop language that defines the delivery, service, quality, and pricing for services or products procured, ensuring clarity and consistency. This position requires coordination with business units and stakeholders to align documentation with the Department's needs. Additional tasks include maintaining an internal documentation library, providing special documentation services, and overseeing special projects. Strong organizational and project management skills, along with excellent writing and editing abilities, are essential. The contract writer must be capable of developing new contractual language based on business needs, rather than solely relying on templates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of business or technical writing experience.
  • Working knowledge of procurement processes/documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to develop new contractual language based on business needs.

Responsibilities
