About The Position

The Contract Specialist is responsible for the development, drafting, negotiation and execution of specific categories of contractual arrangements for SHA including, but not limited to, funding, information technology, licence, services, consulting, data sharing, and research agreements. The Contract Specialist is responsible for the facilitation of activities that are required to support the implementation of any such contract with appropriate internal and external stakeholders. The Contract Specialist engages with key stakeholders within and external to SHA including key individuals in government ministries and with other health system partners. The Contract Specialist plays a key role in supporting SHA’s data governance framework, and is responsible for providing contract-related advice to the Director, Contract Management. Working largely independently, the Contract Specialist performs these functions in order to provide SHA with risk mitigation strategies that assist in protecting the legal, financial and reputational objectives of SHA at a high level. Operating in a complex and dynamic healthcare environment, the position demonstrates strong leadership to enable an innovative and positive working climate and a client-centric culture. The Contract Specialist must work cross-functionally within the portfolio and across the organization to support operations, and will develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years direct or related experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a branch of legal or legal-relevant studies.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable.

Responsibilities
