About The Position

Zoox is hiring a Contract Student Worker to develop tools, curate datasets, and generate insights on geofence expansion goals and the autonomy investments needed to achieve them. The worker will collect requirements from the Autonomy team, use AI tools to curate data and build analysis tools, and share insights and recommendations. The position is for students enrolled in a relevant bachelor's or master's program, requires at least three months of availability and a minimum of 20 hours per week, and is on-site in Foster City, California. This is a contract position employed through a vendor contracted with Zoox. The role pays $30 per hour; benefits eligibility is determined by the vendor. The program provides ongoing project work alongside studies but is not an internship and does not include structured intern programming or a pathway to full-time employment.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an engineering or data-related program, such as statistics or data science.
• Have hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
• Be currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in a relevant discipline.
• Be available for a minimum three-month assignment.
• Commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Work on-site in Foster City, California.
• Adhere to Zoox confidentiality requirements, including not using or sharing proprietary company information outside Zoox, such as in academic research, theses, publications, or presentations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in robotics and/or autonomy.
• Experience with PySpark or SQL.
