About The Position

Peregrine is seeking an expert in state and local government contracts to support its sales and business development efforts. This role is critical for moving deals forward and ensuring their successful closure. The Contract Specialist will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating all sales contracts. They will also map contract tradeoffs to business goals, guide the procurement process (including fiscal and legal aspects), and support the sales team with compliance, pricing, and delivery requirements. This position will have a significant impact on company objectives and customer acquisition of Peregrine's product. The role requires close collaboration with legal, finance, sales, and operations teams, while also operating in a fast-paced, autonomous environment that demands quick contract turnaround and creative approaches to unique procurement avenues. The Contract Specialist will own the delivery of contracts to customers, demonstrating a deep understanding of their funding and procurement processes.

Requirements

  • Expertise in state and local government contracts.
  • Deep familiarity with contracts and the contracting process within the US State and Local Government.
  • Skilled communicator capable of explaining contract options, terms, and guiding customers through the contracting process.
  • Skilled at internal communications to help stakeholders understand options and tradeoffs.
  • Ability to mitigate risk for the business while maintaining a customer-first attitude.
  • Skilled negotiator capable of independently driving momentum and making clear, vetted tradeoffs.
  • Resilient and steadfast in goals.
  • Passionate about exploring all possibilities and seeing opportunities.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • 5+ years of contracting experience in the enterprise software/SaaS space, state and local governments strongly preferred.
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management systems and customer relationship management software, Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Ability and comfort in negotiating and closing legal agreements with customers and supporting new customers through onboarding processes.
  • Experience utilizing direct contracting mechanisms and 3rd party contracting vehicles such as Cooperative Purchasing Agreements.
  • Familiarity with solution-based selling.
  • Experience in teaming with others to navigate a complex sales process.
  • Excellent executive-level written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Located in San Francisco, California, and willing to come into our office 4 days/week.

Responsibilities
