About The Position

Catface is a YouTube entertainment company with a family of channels boasting over 28+ million combined subscribers and averaging 300 million views per month. Our mission is to entertain our audience with fun, light-hearted narratives and engaging content for general audiences. A critical aspect of our operation is the weekly creation of multiple unique stories to maintain audience engagement. We are seeking a talented Shortform & Ad Scriptwriter on a contracted project basis to support our Marketing team in developing scripts for advertisements and short-form content across our Shuki, Aphmau, and Stories channels. The ideal candidate will research trends, write compelling, audience-centric scripts, and maintain a consistent, captivating storytelling style that resonates with child and young adult viewers. This role involves the complete development of high-quality scripts, from concept to final product, ensuring alignment with our brand's humorous, playful, and whimsical aesthetic. Each project may entail trend research, narrative writing, and script refinement to boost audience engagement. The perfect candidate possesses strong writing, editing, and communication skills, a keen interest in YouTube and gaming content trends (especially Minecraft), and the ability to produce captivating, polished work within the fast-paced environment of online entertainment production.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a scriptwriter or in a similar creative role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing the ability to craft engaging, audience-focused scripts.
• Proven experience writing for young adult or children’s media.
• Ability to write dialogue, edit, and proofread.
• Familiarity with Minecraft lore is necessary.
• Understanding of YouTube gaming content trends and platform dynamics.
• Ability to interpret and apply feedback to refine content.
• Analytical mindset to apply viewer insights and/or video metrics into increased content engagement.
• Capable of managing individual projects independently and collaborating effectively with teams.
• Demonstrate efficient communication and timely follow-up, especially when working remotely or asynchronously.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and apply analytics to craft scripts that enhance audience engagement and channel growth.
• Prepare all script materials, including notes, outlines, and reference documents, for assigned projects.
• Write original scripts tailored to project objectives and target audiences, ensuring brand consistency and logical flow.
• Develop short-form content inspired by current and emerging trends in young adult and children's internet culture.
• Participate in feedback sessions and revise scripts based on direction from management and creative leads.
• Provide clearly formatted scripts with relevant metadata (e.g., cast lists, SEO tags, resource links) for production and discoverability.
• Collaborate with Production and Editing teams to ensure smooth script hand-offs and address follow-up questions.
• Occasionally assist with transcription or documentation tasks for assigned projects.
• Update relevant creative and theme documentation as needed, incorporating feedback from upper management.
