About The Position

The Contract Security Officer (CSO) Lieutenant protects, safeguards, and secures assets, personnel, customers, and visitors. The position is under the supervision of the Captain for the assigned security department shift and is located in Alexandria, Virginia. It is part-time and pays $40.61 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be a high school or GED graduate.
• At least five years of law enforcement, security officer, or military experience demonstrating a successful history of increasing responsibility.
• Must possess a Secret clearance issued by the U.S. Department of Defense.
• Must have an armed DCJS license.
• Must submit to a pre-employment medical exam and drug screening.
• Must be able to pass an NLIC, state, and local background check and credit check, as applicable.
• Must successfully complete a Physical Agility Test (PAT).
• Must successfully complete a Firearms Qualification (FAQ).
• Competencies include teamwork orientation, stress management/composure, ethical conduct, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, small group leadership skills, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols.
• Record and document daily events.
• Direct and supervise assigned personnel.
• Complete reports and assignments as directed.
• Enforce access control procedures.
• Protect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
• Investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security-related situations.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in following department procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by a security lieutenant, Captain, and security program manager.
