Contract/Procurement Specialist

The Contract Specialist will provide contract administration and commercial support for a large-scale capital construction project, with a focus on contract compliance, commercial risk, change management, and claims avoidance.
Requirements
- Experience with contract administration for construction, engineering, EPC, or large capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial terms, change management, claims, notices, and contractual risk.
- Experience working with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Central New York.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure, or other complex project environments preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on prime contracts, exhibits, and governing procedures.
- Interpret contract requirements and provide guidance to project teams.
- Identify contractual and commercial risks, exposures, and deviations.
- Administer contracts from award through closeout.
- Review notices, change orders, claims, and contractual obligations.
- Define approval requirements, contractual boundaries, and escalation points.
- Maintain commercial risk registers, contract records, and audit-ready documentation.
- Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, Contract Administration, Project Controls, and project leadership.
- Support subcontract flow-down requirements and dispute avoidance.
