About The Position

Linxon, a joint venture blending AtkinsRéalis' project management strength with Hitachi Energy's technological leadership, seeks a Contract Manager for its Energy and Infrastructure Projects division in Phoenix, AZ. This role is crucial for delivering high-performing EPC solutions that strengthen the power grid and support community and industrial development. The Contract Manager will serve as a key commercial advisor, reporting to the General Counsel Americas, and will be instrumental in shaping contract strategy during tendering, protecting value through subcontracting and procurement, and resolving claims and disputes during project execution. The goal is to ensure risk-balanced EPC agreements, strengthen supplier and subcontractor positions, maintain disciplined governance compliance, and successfully resolve commercial issues to safeguard project margin, schedule, and reputation, thereby enabling Linxon's strategic growth.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in contract management or commercial roles within the construction or EPC industry, ideally supporting utility grid infrastructure or heavy industrial projects.
  • Hands-on experience advising on EPC contracts, subcontracting, equipment procurement, insurance, claims management, and dispute resolution.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling influence over diverse stakeholders while maintaining clarity, credibility, and accountability.
  • Ability to balance detailed contract analysis with broader strategic and commercial objectives to deliver pragmatic, value-driven advice.
  • Demonstrated independence in decision-making and the ability to drive contracts, claims, and complex issues to conclusion.
  • Confidence to communicate difficult or unpopular positions to project teams and executives and to hold stakeholders accountable when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced, close-knit, multilingual, and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional language proficiency—particularly Spanish or French—considered a strong advantage.
  • Interest in learning and applying technical concepts related to utility construction projects and heavy industrial manufacturing environments in the United States.
  • A Juris Doctor or equivalent legal qualification is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales and tender teams from bid preparation through contract award by reviewing, negotiating, and drafting EPC agreements that align commercial risk with Linxon’s governance framework and long-term business objectives.
  • Advise supply chain management from sourcing through contract close-out by negotiating and drafting key supplier and subcontractor agreements that protect Linxon’s commercial, insurance, and risk allocation positions.
  • Work directly with the project implementation organization from project start through completion to manage contract changes, evaluate claims, and drive timely, practical resolutions that minimize financial exposure and schedule impact.
  • Analyze EPC, subcontract, and supplier contracts from inception through execution by identifying legal and commercial risks, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, and recommending mitigation strategies to project stakeholders.
  • Draft and issue contractual correspondence from issue identification through resolution to enforce contractual rights, preserve claims, and maintain Linxon’s position in live projects.
  • Provide clear commercial advice and formal opinions from early risk identification through executive decision-making to enable informed, strategic project and business actions.
  • Participate directly in negotiations with clients, joint venture partners, subcontractors, and suppliers from preparation through final agreement to achieve balanced, enforceable commercial outcomes.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel from dispute escalation through arbitration or litigation to ensure efficient case management, cost control, and effective protection of Linxon’s interests.
