This position is based in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Requirements

  • University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years progressive business experience is required; experience drafting and revising contracts is preferred; law firm, in-house legal department or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience in contract administration or related business experience is required, life sciences is preferred.
  • Detail and process oriented.
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, business partners and customers and to influence effectively is required.
  • Demonstrated abilities to work in a fast-paced environment, meet stringent timelines, prioritize work relative to business context, and handle multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Highly computer literate, with advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and different legal and contracts databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Basic contract negotiating skills.

  • Bilingualism in English and French would be an asset.
  • RFP and 3rd party vendor experience would be an asset.
  • Relevant Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Post-secondary College or Institute (Paralegal Licence from the Law Society of Upper Canada or Completion of Law Clerk program accredited by The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Perform bid site searches for new tenders, review tender documents, and identify information to the commercial team.
  • Generate all types of contract maintenance changes (expiry, add-on, price change) received from internal partners. Recommend course of action based on investigation and analysis of current state.
  • Implement complete contract price data management by ensuring new contracts set up meet established requirements, and all pertinent files associated with the contract are current and filed appropriately.
  • Ensure timely submission and retention of final documentation, following compliance protocols set by the department. Maintain accurate records in alignment with SOX and HCC guidelines. Act as gatekeeper of contract set up activities.
  • Lead tender / Request for Proposal (RFP) process using project management techniques to ensure kick-off and status reviews with cross-functional teams, identifies clear deliverables, assigns roles and timelines.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Review and flag non-standard T&C, lead negotiations with customer contract teams.
  • Calculation, coordination payment, tracking of tech/product credits.
  • Provide all sales reports to customers as per T&C within agreements.
  • Recommend and create new Contracts and Pricing reports to support commercial stakeholders. Provide business partners at hoc reporting.
  • Address inquiries related to contracts from external customers, ensuring timely issue resolution and continuous engagement.
  • Leads the investigation of Pricing Discrepancies until resolution while assessing priority in order to reduce revenue impacts and process inefficiencies.
  • Engage actively in various organizational initiatives, supporting management objectives and team development.
  • Manage Customer Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) Configurations in order to ensure accurate pricing aligned across GPO members; interfaces with Sales & Operations Analyst to ensure accurate utilization of GPO member data in local data and analytics outputs and reporting.
  • Drafts and reviews agreements, contracts and terms and conditions based on commercial and legal and healthcare compliance input and requirements.
  • Participate in various initiatives as required by Management.

Benefits

  • The expected base pay range for this position is $74,000 to $119,025 CAD.
