About The Position

The Contract Administrator is the point of contact and representative for all commercial and contractual matters relating to the execution of a project internally and externally. He/she ensures the proper implementation of all commercial aspects of the project, maintains a commercial overview of the project, participates in resolving claims with the customer or supplier and coordinates critical subject matter of the contract with the functional departments (legal, accounting, tax etc.) and the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a similar field is preferred. An Associate Degree, in a business field, combined with a paralegal certification will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a comparable position
  • Basic understanding of contract language and the ability to negotiate, interpret, and carry out contract terms
  • Knowledge of project controlling, accounting, finance and contract management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, is required
  • Strong ability to communicate and exercise effective interpersonal skills is necessary
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail is necessary
  • Must be able to work within a team and be able to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Management and coordination of site services contracts supporting SMS foreign entities for work at US sites.
  • Coordination and support of commercial activities with SMS personal at the project construction site
  • Management of small capital projects including implementation of end-to-end contract management, financial management, project cost controlling, risk and claims management
  • Monitoring the project from a contractual, commercial, performance and financial perspective and recommend appropriate actions to resolve.
  • Manage and conduct coordination efforts of contractually compliant communication with the customer and all contractual partners.
  • Ensuring the proper processing and implementation of the commercial contract contents
  • Employ problem solving skills to effectively resolve issues with the customer and internal/project personnel to expedite and coordinate contract activities.
  • Maintaining project overview & ensuring commercial project success
  • Carrying out monthly project reporting
  • Preparation and coordination of consortium contracts and commercial management of consortiums including payment release, change management, claims management
  • Assists Commercial Project Managers in construction site coordination and other administrative support for complex projects
  • Ensuring compliance with project management standards and all requirements of the applicable Project Management Guidelines of SMS group
  • Ensuring the accuracy of cost and pricing calculations
  • Managing the customer’s requirements (timely invoicing etc.)
  • Support in compiling the payment plan and reporting on cash flow
