About The Position

ISL Engineering is seeking a Temporary (up to 6 months) or Permanent Contract Administrator to support the delivery of Transportation Infrastructure Project(s). Working closely with the Project Manager and construction team, the successful candidate will assist with contract administration activities throughout the construction phase, ensuring documentation, communication, and project records are maintained accurately and efficiently. ISL Contract Administrators go on to pursue fulfilling careers during winter months as they expand skillsets in Cost Estimation, Bid Documents and much more.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent construction administration/inspection experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in construction contract administration preferably supporting transportation or municipal infrastructure projects in consulting engineering. Equivalent construction contract administration/inspection experience within the construction industry will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with document management software is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to attend project sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer construction contract documentation, including submittts, RFIs, change orders, payment applications, and project correspondence.
  • Coordinate communication between the contractor, client, consultants, and internal project team to support timely resolution of construction issues.
  • Review contractor submissions for completeness and track outstanding items to maintain project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate project records, meeting minutes, site documentation, and contract files.
  • Participate in site meetings and site reviews, documenting observations and following up on action items.
