Under general supervision but with decision making autonomy within a predetermined scope, this role administers and reviews all contracts from a legal and business perspective. Responsibilities include verifying contract financial projections and analyses, ensuring compliance with UMMC policies and procedures, and maintaining current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. The role involves conducting contract activity and/or assessment of required deviations from established norms. It also includes developing negotiation strategies and potentially leading negotiation teams on complex contractual issues, as well as developing standards for contracts with required and desired provisions. Post-contract administration activities such as tracking major provisions, ensuring internal and vendor compliance, monitoring expiration and renewal dates, and contract costs are also key functions. The role is responsible for maintaining the integrity, consistency, and availability of decision support tools.
