About The Position

In this role you will provide professional and administrative Contract Administration services to NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX pursuant to standard concepts, practices, and procedures as described within the Federal Acquisition Regulations for pre- and post-award acquisitions. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager and helps the JSC Office of Procurement operate within guidance outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the NASA Companion Guide (formerly the NASA FAR Supplement (NFS)). This position is 100% remote. Successful candidate will be assigned to support the Seventh Sense JSC Team as a part of the NASA Agency-Wide Acquisition Support Services (AWASS) 2.0 program. Tasks include those activities consistent with the regulatory requirements set forth in the FAR, NASA regulations, and JSC organizational procedures. Routine tasks include processing of modifications, routing invoices for approval, completing routine contract documentation, and briefing updated status of your assigned contract portfolio.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated, self-starting professional with ability to follow guidance then operate independently to complete assigned tasks
  • Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and 4 years of equivalent experience OR a high school diploma and 8 years of equivalent experience
  • Ability to gain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Mid-level procurement experience
  • In depth working knowledge of one or more federal government writing systems (NASA uses SAP, PPS, and NCMS)
  • Ability to quickly grasp procurement terms, methodologies, and processes, prepare contract files and create procurement actions (e.g., contract, order, mod) for contract execution
  • Knowledge and skill in researching basic acquisition procedures and requirements in the FAR.
  • Comfortable working with files on a SharePoint Site
  • Excellent writing skills and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfortable working through media such as video conferences and teleconferences.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NASA systems and processes is highly desired
  • Professional certification in contracting is highly desired
