We have an immediate need for two Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing Leads at our Midland facility. Each reporting to the Managers of Operations (Production and Assembly), these Continuous Improvement Leads will serve as key drivers for the implementation and execution of RTX’s CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) Operating System. These individuals will lead and facilitate process improvement initiatives to optimize performance across the program, product, or process landscape. The candidates will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and achieve operational excellence while maintaining a strong focus on quality, cost, and delivery. This position requires a hands-on and collaborative approach, engaging directly with both employees and management on a daily basis. You will demonstrate strong change management skills and exercise influence to drive improvement across target areas in the organization. Your ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and drive performance through engagement will be a pillar to your success.

Requirements

  • A degree/diploma in Manufacturing, Operations or Business Management or a related field (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical preferred).
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or process improvement roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record of leading process improvement projects with quantifiable results.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements for security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Engineering, or equivalent).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience working in an aerospace or defense environment.
  • Familiarity with RTX CORE Operating System or Toyota Production System principles and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the deployment and integration of LEAN Manufacturing methodologies across the facility to enhance operational excellence and meet business goals.
  • Partner with functional leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, and training sessions to foster a continuous improvement culture within the organization.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement (CORE) tools and techniques (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Management, Lean Six Sigma, etc…) to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Continuous Improvement (CORE) tools and techniques, providing training and support to cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of LEAN Manufacturing initiatives and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Support the development and execution of site-level Continuous Improvement (CORE) roadmaps, ensuring alignment with broader RTX objectives.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and other teams to align Operational goals with overall business objectives.
  • Drive a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the facility including maturation of Continuous Improvement (CORE) Framework requirements
