About The Position

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Intern will support ongoing Lean Manufacturing and process optimization initiatives across production and packaging operations. The role offers hands-on experience with lean tools, data analysis, project execution, and cross-functional teamwork while contributing to improvements in efficiency, safety, quality, and cost savings.

Requirements

• Strong interest in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Lucidchart, SmartDraw, AutoCAD, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, time studies, and value-added/non-value-added analysis across manufacturing and packaging lines, including soft chews, gels, powders, hot extrusion, and injection molding.
• Support continuous improvement projects and CI cards focused on reducing downtime, improving throughput, minimizing yield loss, and enhancing packaging efficiency.
• Participate in and document CI projects, cost savings efforts, and root cause analysis sessions.
• Create and maintain visual management tools, including dashboards, production boards, and standard work documents.
• Assist with implementing 5S and workplace organization improvements.
• Work with supervisors, operators, and engineers to gather input, validate improvement ideas, and drive change.
• Support the development of training materials, SOP updates, and presentations.
• Track project progress, create reports, and present findings to the CI Engineer and leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
