The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for supporting the organization, planning, implementation, and follow-through of continuous improvement initiatives established within the company's operating model. This role drives and leads a wide range of activities designed to improve on-time delivery and productivity. The position requires prioritizing, guiding, and facilitating the activities of the manufacturing function to meet organizational goals, initiatives, and requirements. The engineer will lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives for safety, on-time delivery, production efficiency, and scrap reduction, and work with various departments to identify and remove bottlenecks in the manufacturing process. Establishing and maintaining key performance metrics (KPIs) throughout the departments, ensuring operations metrics are well-known and tracked daily, and establishing reporting systems for manufacturing metrics are key aspects of this role. The engineer will also oversee the development of standard policies, procedures, and practices to ensure customer requirements are embodied in manufacturing processes, reaffirm or establish new production goals, and lead the group effort to achieve them. Developing the capabilities of department members through teaching, coaching, establishing high standards, and ensuring accountability is crucial. The role also involves exhibiting and promoting an attitude on the plant floor that leads to an engaged and energized workforce, driving improvements by developing and implementing systems and procedures based on data analysis, and utilizing best practice methodologies and developing new technologies. Other work-related duties as assigned.
