About The Position

Hearst Television’s Ad Operations unit in Charlotte is hiring a Continuity Specialist to support 32 stations across the country. Based at the company’s state-of-the-art Hub, the position manages commercial copy for assigned stations’ primary and digital channels, with assignments based on market and time zone. The role maintains, assigns, and processes traffic instruction files received from agencies and advertisers, and coordinates commercial instructions and materials with station personnel and Content Distribution Specialists.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of agency commercial instruction terminology.
Working knowledge of the WideOrbit Traffic System.
Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Receive original and revised traffic instructions from station clients.
Interpret commercial copy and agency instructions.
Search station orders for applicable instructions.
Coordinate commercial house number assignment and commercial disposition with Content Distribution Specialists.
Build instruction and rotation sets for assignment in WideOrbit and assign instruction sets to applicable orders.
Coordinate received materials with Content Distribution Specialists.
Review and issue commercial copy log changes as necessary.
Review the “Missing Instruction” report and communicate with agencies and station personnel about missing commercial instructions and material.
Communicate with agencies and station personnel regarding commercial acceptance.
Coordinate with Station Specialists the movement or preemption of spots when material is missing.
Maintain electronic files of commercial copy instructions.
Serve as the station contact for all non-local commercial instruction.
