About The Position

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Project Manager will take ownership of educational events from initial planning and coordination through successful execution. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who is proactive, punctual, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining the big picture and a high level of professionalism. The successful candidate will communicate clearly with CHOC and non-CHOC physicians, medical staff and associates, internal departments, vendors, and external partners. They are highly proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with event technology platforms and mobile applications. We are looking for someone who plans multiple steps ahead, asks questions before they become problems, anticipates needs, and takes initiative. The team works on short-term and long-term events The role requires working on occasional evenings and weekends (average 10-12 dates a year).

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Able to keyboard 40 wpm.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of California Medical Association (CMA) Continuing Medical Educational (CME) criteria.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to cultivate partnerships.
  • Ability to solve problems using sound judgment.
  • Ability to use conference event and web-based tools.
  • Sedentary - Very light energy level Lift 10 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare or academic environment planning continuing medical education (CME) or other healthcare professional events.
  • Certification in meeting planning (CMP) or project management professional (PMP).
  • Experience with developing professional speakers’ bureau.
