Contingent Clinical Care LVN/LPN Float - MC in Pflugerville, TX 78660
About The Position
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), you will use clinical expertise to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care. You will assess patient needs, administer treatments and medications, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and advocate for patients to support improved outcomes. The position floats to nearby locations in the Pflugerville, Texas area. It is a part-time, seasonal contract role. After three weeks of training and orientation, schedules are created in six-week blocks. Shifts are typically 7–10 hours during clinic operating hours, with a typical work week of two or three weekdays and every other weekend. Some major holiday work is required. Conversion to permanent CVS employment may be possible but is not guaranteed.
Requirements
- Full, active, and unrestricted LPN or LVN license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or an Emergency Room.
- Experience with phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing.
- At least one year of related work experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- BLS certification; the expiration date must be at least 30 days after the start date.
- For compact licenses, the license must be issued in the candidate’s primary state of residence and be in good standing with no current or prior disciplinary actions.
- Candidates whose experience is limited to long-term care settings such as nursing homes, home health, LTACs, or skilled nursing facilities are not sought for this role.
- Availability for the required schedule, including some major holidays and every other weekend, and ability to complete the initial three weeks of training.

Responsibilities
- Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications.
- Evaluate complex patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses.
- Monitor vital signs and identify and record abnormalities in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature.
- Perform routine assessments to monitor patient health and overall well-being.
- Help patients access healthcare and connect them with community resources for medication administration, self-care techniques, and disease management.
- Review medications to identify potential side effects and drug interactions.
- Develop and administer mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function.
- Accurately document patient medical history, including illnesses, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history, using electronic health records.
- Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Keep the clinic organized, well stocked, and clean.
- Float to nearby locations as needed.
