About The Position

Our client, a retail pharmacy company, is seeking a Contingent Clinical Care LVN/LPN Float for its Pflugerville, Texas location. The role provides clinical care, including medication administration, patient assessments, monitoring and documentation, medication reviews, and mental health screening. The LVN/LPN also helps patients access healthcare and community resources and maintains an organized, clean, well-stocked clinic.

Requirements

Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room settings.
At least one year of related work experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience with phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing.
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
The posting notes that nurses whose experience is primarily in long-term care settings, including nursing homes, home health, LTACs, and skilled nursing facilities, may encounter challenges adapting to the client environment.

Responsibilities

Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications.
Evaluate complex patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses.
Monitor vital signs and identify and record abnormalities in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature.
Perform routine assessments to monitor patient health and well-being.
Help patients access healthcare and connect them with community resources for medication administration, self-care techniques, and disease management.
Conduct medication reviews to identify potential side effects and drug interactions.
Develop and administer mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function.
Document patient medical history—including illnesses, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history—in electronic health records.
Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Keep the clinic organized, well stocked, and clean.
