About The Position

This position is responsible for developing content for multiple brands and business units including but not limited to single family, commercial, development finance as well as internal departments and external corporate communications as appropriate. This person will continually find ways to raise the bar in providing engaging and dynamic marketing campaigns and communications to all MCAP customers across all media formats (Print, Web, Digital, etc). The successful candidate is an exceptional writer with the ability to adapt their voice and writing style across multiple brands, each with its own unique identity and value proposition. They will develop written content across a variety of channels including web, email, social media, video, thought leadership and marketing campaigns while helping to evolve and reinforce the personality of each brand. Working closely with business stakeholders, designers and project leads, this role will proactively identify content opportunities, develop editorial content plans and create high-quality content that informs, engages and inspires action.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience writing copy for B2B and B2C audiences in financial services, mortgage, fintech, banking, insurance or related industries
  • Degree in journalism, English or marketing disciplines
  • Working knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage brokering in Canada
  • Experience creating content for websites, blogs, email marketing, social media, campaigns and thought leadership initiatives.
  • A great storyteller, brand ambassador and a flair for crafting engaging content
  • Knowledge of SEO fundamentals, digital content optimization and best practices
  • You enjoy ownership of a multitude of projects and take ownership in delivering results.
  • The ability to multitask on urgent communications as required while prioritizing larger projects
  • Highly adaptable. Working in a fast-paced environment where things change frequently
  • A knack for understanding how content and design drives user experience
  • An eye for detail
  • Ability to successfully balance and write for multiple brands simultaneously while maintaining distinct brand voices, audiences and marketing objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Content planning across all channels and brands to deliver on our overall content marketing strategy to meet growth objectives
  • Engage with internal staff and stakeholders with a demonstrated ability to turn complex financial subject matter into compelling copy that informs and educates clients
  • Responsible for creating content across various media formats that will elevate thought leadership, market commentary, and brand content, and dynamically distribute it to audiences in ways and places that break through the clutter in the asset management category.
  • Working with internal partners, help create a unified and strong editorial voice with clear, impactful calls-to-action to meet key business goals.
  • Create measurable, innovative, audience-first content that will put the client at the center of everything
  • Write content and copy (including website copy, regular blogs, social posts, emails, advertising and campaign copy, video storyboards, landing pages, etc.) and edit for unique brand voice, tone and style.
  • Adapt content for various digital channels while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Pitch ideas that are timely and engaging and consistent with the marketing departments strategy and objectives.
  • Follow industry associations, competitors and news to come up with timely ideas for compelling content
  • Help set content priorities and strategy by leveraging data and industry trends/news to make informed decisions.
  • Become an expert for our brand, content, users, customers, etc., delivering what our target audiences are interested in, what challenges they face and translating that information into creative and engaging written assets that drive behaviour
  • Understand and navigate the homeowner journey and write content that pulls them through it to eventually drive new revenue creation
  • Work closely with members of the marketing team to contribute content to all projects and communications
  • Utilize AI tools to accelerate research, content ideation, drafting and editing processes, enabling faster delivery of high-quality content across multiple brands while maintaining strong editorial standards.
