About The Position

As a Content Specialist / Writer at WP Engine, you will be a creative partner and catalyst within our content team. This is a rare, foundational opportunity to jump into a modern, strategy-led organization where you will work directly alongside senior content strategists to co-create high-impact campaigns and drive meaningful business growth. You will take full ownership of content pieces, guiding them from initial concept through to fruition. Your mission is two-fold: First, you will collaborate with senior team members to accelerate our strategic velocity, bringing fresh ideas and engaging narratives to our major marketing initiatives. Second, you will act as a "Content Gardener," leading a data-informed library optimization program. You'll learn to blend compelling storytelling with data, utilizing AI-powered workflows, performance analytics, and organic keyword research to keep our library razor-sharp and perfectly aligned with our latest product innovations. This role is designed as an incredible launchpad, offering deep mentorship, real ownership, and a clear path to mastering data-driven content marketing in the tech B2B space.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of professional writing experience (marketing, blogging, social media, copywriting, internships, or university publications) with a hunger to learn the business side of content strategy as it relates to the technology industry.
  • Strong, adaptive storytelling and editing skills with a sharp eye for brand voice, narrative flow, and tone.
  • A high curiosity for leveraging modern AI tools to enhance your creative workflow.
  • A growth mindset and analytical curiosity—you love seeing how your writing directly impacts business metrics and want to learn how to use data to make smart content decisions.
  • Exposure to or a strong interest in SEO fundamentals and modern digital marketing tools.

  • Use and advocate for modern AI tools to brainstorm angles, outline ideas, and scale content production without losing the human-centric narrative.
  • Champion the health of our existing content library by proactively identifying high-potential assets to refresh, pivot, or expand.
  • Keep our audience on the pulse of what's new by updating and evolving key marketing assets to weave new technical rollouts and product features into compelling customer stories.
  • Work hand-in-hand with senior team members to master tools like Ahrefs and analytics dashboards, using those insights to actively uncover hidden growth opportunities in our library.
