•$90,000 - $130,000

About The Position

NewsBreak is hiring two Content Operations & Curation specialists at the Senior Specialist / Lead level for ReelBee, an open short-drama distribution platform. This CEO-sponsored, company-level initiative lets qualified creators and studios self-publish, earn transparent revenue shares, and receive US audience insights. The roles are based in parallel in Mountain View, in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Beijing. Bilingual English and Mandarin skills are required. The specialist is the hands-on engine of ReelBee’s title-selection system, reviewing, tagging, and queuing titles, running tests, and using performance data to guide decisions. The role also supports the launch and ongoing distribution of successful titles, partner reporting and feedback, supplier evaluation, catalog metadata quality, and monitoring industry trends. The listed US base salary range is $90,000–$130,000 per year. Depending on the position, the role may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus and options.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in content operations, editorial, review, or title selection at a short-drama, web-fiction, short-video, or content platform.
  • Strong familiarity with short-drama titles on ReelShort, DramaBox, and similar apps, and ability to assess title hooks, pacing, and paywall design.
  • Ability to interpret completion curves, episode drop-offs, and payment conversion data and translate findings into operational actions.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Ability to maintain judgment quality and work at a pace of dozens of titles per week.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin; able to review English-language series and subtitles and communicate with US partners.
  • Proficiency with AI tools such as LLM summarization and tagging, AI subtitles, and AI voice detection.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with short-drama platforms, domestic or overseas, is preferred.
  • Short-drama acquisition, rights, or distribution experience.
  • TikTok or YouTube short-drama channel operations experience.
  • AI short-drama production or quality-control experience.
  • Experience with BI dashboards or SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Review and tag 40–60 new titles each week; verify AI-extracted tags such as genre, character archetype, hook, paywall point, and source tier, and assess quality and compliance, including issues such as lip-sync, hands, and scene consistency.
  • Manage the weekly test queue by combining selection-system scores with personal judgment, tracking 72-hour scorecards for CTR, CPI, first-three-episode completion, unlock rate, and first-purchase rate, and recommending titles for scaling.
  • Run post-launch operations for successful titles, including recommendation slots, push notifications, in-app distribution, and creative direction; review performance and develop a playbook of effective approaches.
  • Send weekly title-level and creative-level performance reports to content partners, collect their feedback, and help steer supply direction.
  • Support supply business development through sample evaluation and trial-batch review for new suppliers, and maintain catalog metadata quality.
  • Track industry charts and TikTok short-drama trends; publish a weekly genre and hit-title brief and calibrate title selections against US charts and platform performance data.

Benefits

  • The role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and options, depending on the position.
