Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in independently producing compelling, high-quality content and managing digital and print media.
  • Experience ideally in a nonprofit, foundation, or other mission-focused setting.
  • Experience and fluency with email, social platforms, project management platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience and fluency with WordPress, MailChimp, Loomly, Asana, Canva.
  • Advanced photography and videography skills.
  • Ability to operate well independently and on tight timelines with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to create compelling visual storytelling, including graphic design, photography, and video, tailoring stories to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent, professional, active, and values-aligned social media presence and voice.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, priorities, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, with guests, and with external vendors.
  • Ability to quickly produce compelling short-form writing following standard English conventions and adopting the organization's voice.

Responsibilities

  • Write, proofread, and copyedit multiple writing assignments daily, including mass emails.
  • Manage social media channels to plan content, ensure alignment across platforms, raise organizational awareness, and engage the community.
  • Develop a social media calendar aligned with strategic goals.
  • Create engaging social media posts consistent with organizational voice, values, and goals.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices, providing recommendations for implementation.
  • Engage in social listening and respond in a timely manner, sourcing ideas for uplifting messaging.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster community engagement.
  • Design and produce high-quality, brand-aligned print and digital assets.
  • Serve as the lead photographer and videographer for the organization.
  • Manage photography and videography vendors as needed.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee projects to completion, driving logistics and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a digital asset management process.
  • Interface with print vendors, freelancers, etc. on administrative matters.
  • Ensure creative projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Manage vendors as needed.
  • Pivot to respond to situations requiring publications to be developed and distributed on short notice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.
