About The Position

The Container Shop Welder/ Fabricator repairs, paints, and maintains containers and roll-off boxes. The role includes welding and fabricating steel and aluminum components, repairing and maintaining front, rear, and roll-off containers, and completing related installation, painting, safety, and paperwork tasks. More complex repairs are referred to the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Certified welder.
• Advanced knowledge of MIG and stick welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers.
• Familiarity with basic use of hand tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.
• At least 1 year of welding experience or completion of a welding program.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain front, rear, and roll-off containers.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate steel components for hoppers, containers, and compactors.
• Install lids and wheels on containers.
• Paint repaired containers.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Install company and safety decals on containers and roll-off boxes in accordance with the company standard diagram.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.
