About The Position

The Container Welder/Fabricator repairs, paints, and maintains containers and roll-off boxes. The role performs welding and fabrication work on containers, hoppers, and compactors, installs container components and decals, follows safety procedures, and completes required paperwork. More complex repairs are referred to the Supervisor. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Certified welder.
• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience or completion of a welding program.
• Advanced knowledge of MIG and stick welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on front, rear, and roll-off containers.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate steel components for hoppers, containers, and compactors.
• Install lids and wheels on containers.
• Paint repaired containers.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Install company and safety decals on containers and roll-off boxes in accordance with company standard diagrams.
• Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
