About The Position

Analyze loan requests provided by Consumer Loan Originators and make credit decisions within authorized authority based on financial status, credit, collateral, lending policy etc. Makes recommendations to Consumer Loan Manager when outside of authorized authority. Corresponds/converses with Consumer Loan Originators and Consumer Loan Processors frequently to resolve questions regarding application information provided and accuracy and completeness. Analyzes potential lending opportunities to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio. Successful candidates must make a professional appearance, be detail-oriented, and dependable. This position requires an individual that can communicate effectively with other employees. They will also share Envista's Core Values of Integrity, Empower, Unity, Impact, and Exceed. This is an on-site position at our Main Office in Topeka, KS. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Requirements

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as credit bureau reports, debt to income ratio reports, policy and procedure manuals.
Must be a quick, out-of-the-box thinker with a tolerance for risk.
Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees.

Nice To Haves

1-3 years underwriting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze loan requests provided by Consumer Loan Originators and make credit decisions within authorized authority based on financial status, credit, collateral, lending policy etc. Make recommendations to Consumer Loan Manager when outside of authorized authority.
Support the Consumer Loan Originators and Consumer Loan Processors with workload when necessary to ensure quality service standards are met.
Correspond/converse with Consumer Loan Originators and Consumer Loan Processors frequently to resolve questions regarding application information provided and accuracy and completeness.
Analyze potential lending opportunities to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio.
Keep informed of current trends in consumer credit and any applicable laws and regulations impacting consumer lending. Ensure underwriting is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as Envista policies and procedures.
Contact other departments and or outside agencies to resolve common problems.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
