About The Position

Norway Savings Bank is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join their team as a Consumer Loan Processor based out of their Norway, ME office. In this role, you will play a vital part in performing a variety of duties related to the monitoring, processing, documenting, and closing preparation of all consumer installment loans, home equity lines of credit, mobile homes on leased land, and fixed rate home equity loans. Acting as an effective resource for the Loan Operations department, you will provide support with your knowledge of loan origination systems, audit requirements, and government and state regulations.

Requirements

  • Possesses a solid understanding of financial institution products and services.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months to one year of experience in an office environment.
  • Computer literate, with specific experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with moderate to advanced experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Must have strong written communication skills, including letter and report writing ability.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly by telephone; must have good listening ability and skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and be willing to work as an effective team player.
  • Must be able to prioritize and organize work flow; must have good attention to detail; must be able to handle multiple jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks new loan consumer loan applications for Reg B purposes and follows up with lenders for complete loan packages.
  • Produces weekly production report to management.
  • Ensures that consumer loan files contain proper documentation and relevant data in order to input the loan into the bank lending system.
  • Completes ordering of flood certifications, appraisal and title report.
  • Receives loan files originated by the financial institution and reviews files for all necessary forms and information according to all government guidelines, CFPB, and ATR guidelines and Norway Savings Bank loan policy.
  • Responsible for preparing all non-originated consumer files within lending software and checks documentation for compliance, obtains proper signatures and mails notification to borrower.
  • Answers telephone and written inquiries from loan officer concerning consumer loan file information.
  • Updates and monitors daily loan pipelines to meet delivery dates, purchase and sale commitments and commitment expiration dates.
  • Ensures closing disclosures are compliant with Federal guidelines and TRID requirements, when applicable.
  • Assists in completion of pre-closing QC and HMDA review.
  • Keeps informed of current practices and changes to all processing and closing guidelines.
  • Communicates with third party vendors when issues are present on consumer loan files.
  • Works with Loan Officers and other bank personnel to build strong internal relationships.
  • Documents all exceptions that need to be captured and obtains appropriate authorization.
  • Accountable for completion of all compliance training and adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsible for preparing all commitments and counter offers for consumer files within lending software and checks documentation for compliance, obtains/verifies proper signatures and mails notification to borrower.
  • Reviews loans for final approval to be sure all conditions are received and outstanding concerns are resolved prior to closing.
  • Contacts loan officer to set up a closing date and prepares all Consumer closing documentation, including Installment Loans, Home Equity Lines of Credit, Fixed Rate Home Equity Loans and Mobile Homes on Leased Land delivers to the assigned loan officer/branch or third party vendor.
  • Works with Loan Officers and other bank personal to build strong internal relationships.
