About The Position

The Consumer Loan Officer manages a portfolio of loans, prospects new customers, and cross-sells banking services. This role is responsible for soliciting, building, and maintaining relationships with commercial bank clients and servicing a wide variety of real estate and commercial accounts. Chickasaw Community Bank (CCB) expects all employees to comply with the responsibilities of their assigned position to the highest degree of performance. Expectations include adhering to bank policies, supporting management decisions, representing CCB with integrity, maintaining knowledge of banking regulations and procedures, adapting to changing business needs, exhibiting punctuality and a professional demeanor, answering communications within 24 hours, conferring with management on issues, completing required training, and maintaining satisfactory attendance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years work experience in bank lending.
  • Proven history of meeting departmental budget goals and personal budget goals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic word processing and computer database skills.
  • Ability to learn and navigate computer systems and websites.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals and groups at all organization levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
  • Good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking rules, regulations, laws and all policies and procedures pertaining to them including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to study and apply new information.
  • Ability to learn products, services and procedures quickly and accurately; explain concepts clearly to customers.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport, be friendly and personable and look for ways to benefit the customer.
  • Excellent customer contact skills; comfortable asking questions/interviewing customers about their financial situation; strong listening skills.
  • Must be organized and maintain a positive demeanor in all situations.
  • A solid understanding of structuring and underwriting commercial credits.

Responsibilities

  • Keep work area neat and organized.
  • Act as the frontline contact for consumer and/or small business loan inquiries, directing small business inquiries as needed.
  • Develop and maintain banking relationships through community involvement and networking.
  • Prospect for clients and deliver financial solutions to meet their needs.
  • Solicit commercial loan customers; interview, assess, and determine creditworthiness of loan applicants.
  • Follow up with applicants and secure necessary information to underwrite loans, conducting site visits if needed.
  • Execute loan collection activities for past due accounts.
  • Present loan proposals to loan committees or approval authorities.
  • Initiate interest rate and pricing structures in accordance with bank policy and regulations.
  • Promote and participate in special credit programs and CRA programs.
  • Apply credit/analytical skills for underwriting credit risk, developing loan structure, terms, pricing, and documentation.
  • Process loan requests by ordering appraisals, title work, filing liens, etc.
  • Ensure collateral interests are legally perfected, appropriately valued, monitored, and insured.
  • Comply with all bank policies, procedures, and relevant Federal, State, and industry laws and regulations.
  • Develop revenue growth through generation of loans and other products while meeting production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
