About The Position

This position is responsible for reviewing and preparing consumer loan closing documentation in accordance with loan policy, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent years of relative experience
Three years’ banking experience with two or more years preferably in the loan documentation environment
Good computer, analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of consumer lending processes including consumer loan documentation, software platforms, internal loan processes, governmental regulations and requirements preferred
Possess an ability to work under strict deadlines with shifting priorities
Ability to apply independent thought and logic in order to provide the customer with an accurate loan package
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted.
Ability to take initiative, support strategic priorities, take ownership of assigned projects, and independently drive for results.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change and meet deadlines.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to diagnose, resolve or escalate a critical situation.
Good credit is a must.
Credit report is required for employment.

Responsibilities

Review loan closing documentation for accuracy on all consumer loans in accordance with loan policy, state, and federal regulations.
Prepare accurate loan closing documentation for all consumer loan types, including CD/Savings Secured loans, Auto Loans, Unsecured Loans and Real Estate Secured Loans.
Order Flood Determinations and accurately prepare flood notices if property is in a defined flood hazard area.
Order appraisals and engage attorneys for necessary loan transactions which include but is not limited to title work from title companies, Clerk of Court and/or attorneys.
Review appraisals and title work to recommend any needed corrective documentation to ensure Home Bank will have a valid lien position.
Verify accuracy of loan documentation including, but not limited to legal descriptions, closing dates, signatures required for lien perfection, preliminary title (title policy, title opinion, etc.) to ensure proper endorsements and lien position, insurance coverage, flood requirements, etc.
Responsible for calculating final loan amounts and ensuring the settlement statement is balanced.
Independently identify the appropriate documentation required to ensure proper lien perfection.
Verify appropriate authority provided for loan approval.
Prepare monthly reports as defined by management.
Maintain current knowledge of legal and compliance issues to ensure that all loans processed adhere to applicable state and federal regulations.
Assist in keeping all lenders aware of changes in loan related fees and other relevant information.
Provide a high level of customer service through assistance and consultation with internal clients regarding specific transactions and potential issues.
Maintain exception tracking on any exceptions approved by management prior to closing.
Ensure that any exceptions are approved appropriately.
Work with Loan Admin personnel to resolve loan exceptions.
Accept additional duties assigned which include but are not limited to working as a backup for Commercial Closing and other areas in the Credit Department.
