About The Position

As the Consumer Lending Originator you’ll deliver exceptional service by guiding members through loan applications, closings, and personalized financial solutions tailored to their needs. This role focuses on building rapport, identifying member needs, and providing consultative support to enhance their financial well-being. As a Consumer Lending Originator, you’ll join a supportive, growth-oriented team and receive specialized lending training. You’ll develop transferable skills that can open the door to advancement opportunities across the organization, including Consumer Lending Leadership. With monthly sales incentives, your earning potential grows as you succeed in helping members with their financial needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1–2 years lending experience
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Professionalism in conduct, communication, and appearance
• Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility
• Proficiency in basic computer operation
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Ability to be bonded and registered under the SAFE Act

Nice To Haves

• College degree
• Familiarity with mortgage or business lending
• Service/sales experience
• Retail banking experience
• Familiarity with Velocity and/or Fiserv DNA
• Proficiency in MS Office

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with members to identify financial needs and provide consultative sales and cross-sell opportunities.
• Conduct loan interviews, gather applicant information, and educate members on credit union products and services.
• Review loan applications and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Assist members with questions or concerns related to their loan products.
• Meet or exceed monthly referral, sales, and participation goals, including vehicle service contracts like GAP and Warranty.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of credit union products and services
