About The Position

The Consumer Direct Loan Officer is responsible for handling inbound requests, building rapport with the customer, determining the customer's needs, taking applications, and quoting fees and interest rates. This role involves educating clients about the mortgage and home buying process, engaging with them to understand their needs and present tailored solutions, and explaining the various mortgage programs available. The officer will counsel clients on positioning for success as a home buyer, advise on opportunities to improve their financial situation, and guide them in choosing the best mortgage. They will also issue accurate preapprovals supported by documentation, provide timely quotes, and communicate with referral partners and transaction stakeholders. Participation in weekly pipeline reviews with processing is also a core responsibility.

Requirements

  • NMLS license or willingness to obtain
  • Knowledge of agency (Fannie, Freddie) government (FHA & VA) and DPA as well as non-QM /portfolio mortgage programs
  • Experience with POS (Glyde/Blend), LOS (Encompass), and CRM (TE)
  • Familiarity with Dialpad phone system and Mortgage Coach preferred
  • Excellent people skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast paced environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
